Tracy took Charles in to see the doctor for what I am guessing was his 10 month check up (he is kind of inbetween 10 and 11 months). He did well and is happy that he doesn't have to get shots until November. He weighed in at 20.7 lbs (60th percentile) and is 29.75 inches long (90th percentile). I don't remember the exact measurement of his head, but it is big. He has 6 teeth (2 on top and 4 on the bottom).
Other updates, that we did not need the doctor to tell us...Charles likes to get into things he is not supposed to. For example, playing with the surround sound settings, climbing the stairs, playing with cords (for the speakers), playing with the dog's toys, and pushing the buttons on the computer. He knows he is not supposed to do these things because everytime we go to take him away, he crawls as fast as he can and laughs at us. I guess he thinks it is a game. I am guessing his first word will be "no" because that is what seems to come out of our mouths the most.
Charles also likes to stand. He does need some support, but any time he is on the floor he crawls to something he thinks he can stand up against. It is usually the couch or a chair, or the entertainment center. He also loves to copy what you do. He roars like a lion, quacks like a duck, blinks his eyes, rolls his hands (the do-as-I'm-doing motion), and covers his eyes (peek-a-boo style) when prompted.
We are excited that when we move, he will not have as much stuff to get into. We definitely don't have the nice things my parents have, and no dog toys. He will also not have access to the stairs, and we do not have surround sound. So, I guess Charles will have to find some other things to get into, or he will have to learn to play with his toys.
Sorry for the post sans pictures. Sometime later this week I will post some pictures of our 4th of July festivities.
