Finals Are Over!!

Well, since I have the pictures on my laptop, I guess it is up to me to post pictures and keep everyone updated on the happenings of our family. As for me, finals are over, and although I will not find out how well (or bad) I did until mid-June, I am just happy to be done. So, I am now 2/3 of the way through Law School, with the easiest year left to go. I also started working at an Engineering firm (Wood Rodgers). Though it isn't a law firm, I still get valuable experience reviewing contracts and helping with other legal matters. I am also involved in running the Law Review. I am in charge of editing all articles that go into the Law Review and so will be busy doing that as well.

Tracy is still working four days a week, and playing with Hooch on the weekends. Last weekend she participated in the Susan Komen Breast Cancer Walk/Run. She walked the 5k with two of her sisters.

Hooch had his hair cut last month, it was growing kind of weird, and though he didn't hold still very well, it didn't look as bad once it was cut. He kept wanting to see what was making the buzzing sound and so the cut was a little uneven. He is already needing another hair cut, it grows a lot on the top and the sides, but not so well in the back and front. I think we should just shave it all off, but Tracy doesn't like that idea.

As we have probably mentioned, Hooch loves the bath. He splashes so much and likes to float on his back. So I thought I would include a bath-time picture.

Speaking of Hooch's affinity for water, he also likes to play with the hose and in the sprinklers. He likes to sit and put his hand in the water and get himself wet. Here he is with his Grandma Bacchus watering the lawn. The other day I ran through the sprinklers with him.

Hooch also has three teeth now; all on the bottom. You can see them in this picture of him playing in Grandpa's chair. He has also started to crawl today. He has been getting on his hands and knees and rocking for a couple of weeks now, but today he started to crawl. Nothing too much yet, he still likes some help getting what he wants.

We are looking forward to go camping next week. It will be a nice break life, and we will see how Hooch likes camping. My guess is that he will be a dirty boy for a couple of days.

Update- but not really

I know Chad and I are going on a month with no post but we have a lame excuse. Chad does all the good posts and he is in the middle of finals. So unless I get my act together, everyone will have to wait for another week or two. The next post will include a trip to the zoo and a first haircut.

Easter - Episode 3

We have finally made it to Easter morning. Hooch and his mom found the eggs that the Easter Bunny hid, and then Hooch sat down to see what he got. He got some eggs filled with nilla wafers and other baby snacks. His favorite thing was his piano. He loves to sit and play us songs, most of which he writes by himself. He doesn't like to take requests, though he says that he might one day.

Hooch got a bracelet at his Grandma Busath's house and he loved it. I like to think of it more as an arm band, not a bracelet. Nice tan uncle Bubba.

Easter - Episode 2

After the Church Easter Egg hunt, Hooch and his mom went to his Grandma Busath's house to dye eggs for the Easter Bunny. He seemed to have a good time with all his cousins, aunts, and uncle Bubba.Hooch's mom had to make sure to cover up, she didn't want egg dye on her clothes.

Easter - Episode 1

On Saturday the 22nd, our ward had its Easter Egg hunt and pancake breakfast. Charles doesn't understand the concept of searching for eggs and eating candy, though he does like to play with the eggs and try to eat the candy.

Here is Hooch with his mom getting ready to find the eggs. Tracy was casing the joint making plans as to which eggs Hooch was going to get first.

Hooch's Grandma was also there hoping that he would share some of his candy with her.

Hooch tried to tell his mom that boys don't get purple eggs, but she said that it was okay if as long as the purple egg was for her.

At this point, Hooch didn't care what color the eggs were, he just wanted to find his limit of 11 and go home so he could eat.

He couldn't figure out why the egg was making noise, but soon discovered a strange type of food inside. At least this one was a more gender neutral color.

Baby food and play time

Sometime in February or March, Charles had his first taste of baby food. As you can tell from the pictures, he doesn't really like it. We have been persistent with having him try all the different types, and can say that he doesn't mind squash and pears. He doesn't really like anything else. He does like baby oatmeal, graham crackers, nilla wafers, and cheerios.

We decided to do our first family picture and a six month picture of Charles. Charles did a great job of smiling for us, but wouldn't smile for the picture lady. That is why he isn't really smiling in the family picture. But he still looks cute. Sorry they are small. We borrowed them from the website.
